Ever wanted to party in a garden centre? Home Depot can help with that.
Toronto has become a place known for interesting events, and a new concert series hosted by Home Depot is no different.
This week, the Home Depot Garden Centre in Toronto’s Stockyards neighbourhood transformed into a concert venue, with Juno-nominated pop band Valley taking over the store for an intimate concert.
Fans were invited to attend the show through Instagram, with more than 50 lucky people selected to attend a show filled with lush greenery as the band played songs from their album Water the Flowers, Pray for a Garden.
The show was the first of a new series being hosted by the store called the Garden Centre Sessions, and saw fans show up ready to sing, sway, and soak in the good vibes.
“We chose Stockyards for a reason—it’s one of our biggest Garden Centres in the city, with a covered space perfect for the interactive stage, and with the perfect acoustics to set the vibe,” a representative from Home Depot Canada told Now Toronto.
The company says that the show was all about allowing fans to create a core memory in a familiar space.
So, what are the deets for the next show? Well, the company is keeping that info under wraps right now, but it hinted that it is planting seeds for another event.
“Fans are already suggesting new locations and artists, and we’re watching the comments closely,” the company shared.
Following the show, attendees took to social media to give people a look into the concert, and Torontonians can’t get enough of the idea.
“K WAIT WHAT THIS IS SO COOL I WANNA SING WITH THE PLANTS,” one person said on TikTok.
“When did Home Depot become so cool?” another questioned.
“Now if they can do this more often, then it might just be a little like Tiny Desk feel.”
“For the amount of time I have spent at @Home Depot Canada over the past few years, I’ll make it my husband’s responsibility to… petition to get this local to us,” one B.C. woman shared.
While the store responded to her thoughts, asking for her location.
“What’s your local HD? We may have sway to add to future lists…” the store joked, adding that it pinned her local store for a potential future show.

Toronto has had its fair share of unusual concert venues, including earlier this year when a downtown church went viral for hosting a rave.
