The Toronto Raptors have revealed a new logo honouring longtime superstar Kyle Lowry, who retired as a Raptor at the end of the 2025-26 season.
The Toronto NBA team is paying tribute to one of the greatest players in franchise history with a brand-new logo. To celebrate now-retired Lowry, the logo was revealed in a clip posted to the team’s social media pages on Tuesday, accompanied by the caption “a legacy too big for one night.”
The design features Lowry’s iconic No. 7 and incorporates elements inspired by his 11 seasons with the franchise, including the team’s 2019 NBA championship run.
Lowry, 40, spent more than a decade with the Raptors after being traded to Toronto in 2012. During his time with the team, he became the franchise’s all-time leader in assists, earned six NBA All-Star selections as a Raptor and helped deliver the organization’s first NBA championship in 2019. Lowry left Toronto to play for the Miami Heat in August 2021, before signing with the Philadelphia 76ers in Feb. 2024.
He returned to the city after signing a one-day contract with the Raptors to retire with the team back in July.

Widely regarded as the face of the Raptors’ most successful era, Lowry built a reputation for his leadership and toughness, helping the team achieve its only win in franchise history while defining the team’s culture.
The Raptors said the new logo will appear throughout the team’s celebrations of Lowry’s career, including special merchandise and in-arena tributes during his farewell season.
While he finished his playing career outside of Toronto, his legacy with the Raptors remains unmatched. For many fans, Lowry’s No. 7 is synonymous with one of the most memorable chapters in Canadian basketball history.
Some of Lowry’s supporters have taken to social media to share their excitement over the new design, with many sharing the sentiment that the North Philadelphia-born hooper deserves all of the flowers.
“THIS IS AWESOME well done by my [Raptors] and [Kyle Lowry] deserves it, he’s the [GOAT] in our franchise history [in my opinion] so he deserves all of this and he’s earned a HUGE Ceremony for his retirement so I’m really looking forward to that night,” one fan posted to X. “He’s a LEGEND here in Canada.”
“The Raptors are the best team in the NBA when it comes to honouring their former players. This is cool as hell, and the Kawhi tribute in 2019 remains the gold standard of “returning franchise icon” celebrations,” another posted.
“Having a unique raptors avatar for dudes with retired numbers is actually so cool and I’m glad they’re doing it.”
The Raps honoured former player Vince Carter’s jersey retirement similarly in 2024, with a logo designed in his likeness, with the dinosaur wearing Carter’s No. 15 and paying homage to his iconic windmill dunk. The team also sold a City Edition jersey with that logo to honour Carter.
The Raptors are expected to honour Lowry throughout the upcoming season, with many fans anticipating that his jersey will eventually hang in the rafters alongside Carter’s at Scotiabank Arena.
