One thing about soca superstar Nailah Blackman, she loves Toronto.

In a recent interview with The Brandon Gonez Show, the Trinidadian singer showed our city some major love, saying she loves the mix of cultures in Toronto.

“I could get a bit of the Caribbean, I could get a bit of Canada, I could get a bit of America, even here,” Blackman explained.

“I usually come around Caribana time. In the summer when it’s hot,” she explained. “Oh my God, I fall in love. Like, everything is great here.”

She said that when comparing major cities London, New York and Toronto, New York comes first, followed by the 6ix.

NAILAH BLACKMAN X ROY WOODS

The Caribbean queen recently collaborated with Toronto artist Roy Woods on the song “It Feels Like Love,” which dropped earlier this year.

In a recent interview with The Brandon Gonez Show, Woods lamented how beautiful he thinks Blackman is. In response to his comments, she said she’s a big fan of Woods and that he’s “good vibes.”

“I love his voice. I love what he did on the track, I’m really excited to do this song and perform this song with him,” she shared.

Blackman explained that the duo recorded the steamy music video for the track at SOS Fest in Markham, which was the first time they’d ever performed together.

“I don’t really know him very well, so… you can’t love someone you don’t know, but it feels like love,” she laughed.

So, does she want to get to know him more?

“Right now I’m busy. I’m trying to finish my album right now, so I don’t have time for that.”
