Fans have recently spotted the Toronto Raptors’ newest draft pick Gradey Dick exploring the city.
Last week, the Raptors chose the Kansas-born basketball star who was selected as the 13th overall pick in the NBA draft. Since then, Dick has been welcomed by Toronto fans eager to see his performance on the team.
During this past weekend, Dick was seen gallivanting around the city getting to know his new home.
While on his sight-seeing tour, Dick was met with fans who took to social media to share their excitement. One fan says he met Dick and his parents, as they were on the way to a Toronto Blue Jays game.
Meanwhile, other fans ran into him at a downtown restaurant called SOCO Kitchen + Bar at Bremner Blvd. and Simcoe St..
During Sunday’s Blue Jays home game against the Oakland Athletics, the 19-year-old took a video with fellow new Raptors player, Markquis Nowell, who the team just signed a two-way contract with. Much like Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet, Nowell was also undrafted.
Based on the way Dick pronounced the city (“Toron-no”) in his Twitter video, Dick appears to be fitting in effortlessly.
