Lasting Impressions in 3D is a touring, tech-forward art installation featuring over 160 works by 17 masters of the French Impressionist movement, and it has arrived in Toronto for a limited time only.
After successful runs in Montreal, Miami, Orlando, and Quebec City, the show began its transient nine-week stint in Toronto on Aug.10 and will run until Oct. 8, at the CAA Theatre, which has been thoughtfully reconfigured to mimic the ambience of a Parisian Café.
Reserved alfresco style seating spans the theatre’s main floor, and guests are also free to order food from a light menu which includes a selection of wine, champagne, charcuterie, and cheese plates.
Aided by sophisticated 3D motion sculpting and holographic technology, viewers are summoned by the voice of Sophie Renoir, Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s great grand-daughter, to “suspend their disbelief,” and step into some of the most recognizable and treasured paintings in existence.

Lasting Impressions’ featured artists include, Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas, Paul Gaugin, Eva Gonzales, Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Georges Seurat and Vincent Van Gogh, accompanied by the musical works of Debussy, Ravel and many other composers, as well as French classics by Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Nana Mouskouri.
“Because the spectator travels into each painting – feeling as if they were standing in the same spot that Renoir was, with his easel, canvas, paints and brushes – it is easy to feel transported to the time of the Impressionists,”Founding Partner of the show’s production company, Princeton Entertainment Group, Ed Kasses said in a statement.
The show has a running time of 1 hour and 40 minutes including an intermission, and tickets are available to purchase on the CAA Theatre’s website, starting from $44.50.
Screenings run daily from Tuesday – Thursday at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m, Fridays at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m, Saturdays: at 2 p.m., 4:30 p.m. & 7 p.m, and Sundays at 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m, from Aug.10 until Oct. 8
