Despite numerous allegations of sexual assault, American actor Kevin Spacey was awarded a lifetime achievement award at Italy’s National Museum of Cinema on Monday.

Spacey, 63, was at the forefront of the sold out event, but will soon be at the forefront of a courtroom in his upcoming sex assault trial in June.

The former House of Cards actor is facing a dozen charges, alleging he sexually assaulted four men in the U.K. between 2001 and 2013.

Spacey was previously booted from the hit TV series and was completely cut from the movie “All the Money in the World,” in its post-production, following other sexual abuse allegations in the U.S.

In addition, in Aug. 2022, a Los Angeles judge approved the order for Spacey to pay $30.9 million U.S. to the makers of House of Cards for violating his contract by sexually harassing crew members.

People on Twitter aren’t too fond of 63-year-old Spacey receiving the award:

Monday marked Spacey’s first public speaking event since 2017 when he was first accused of sexual assaults following the #MeToo movement.

He thanked the Italian National Museum of Cinema for having “le palle,” or Italian for “the balls” for celebrating him.

While in Italy, he hosted a masterclass on acting and introduced the 1999 film American Beauty, which he starred in.

The two-time Oscar winner denies all the charges brought against him.
