“…And if you wondered if I hate you (I do!)”

SZA fans are singing this lyric with extra passion and pain this morning after the American singer cancelled her Toronto concert last minute Wednesday night.

Around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, 30 minutes before doors were set to open at Scotiabank Arena, the singer announced the show would not go on on her Instagram story.

“I’m here at the arena. I just tried to do sound check. I sound terrible. I only want to give you guys 100 per cent and that’s what you deserve and I won’t give you any less than that. I promise you I will come back to Toronto and make it up,” SZA said in a since-deleted video.

Just a few hours prior to that, around 4 p.m., the singer posted that she was feeling sick following her show in New Jersey and has since been taking a “z pack n hella steroids.”

And to make matters worse, Scotiabank Arena only officially sent the concert cancellation notice minutes prior to doors opening.

Following the news, some fans were outraged as many travelled near and far just to see the award-winning artist, while others pointed out that the singer was healthy enough to make an appearance at Lil Yachty’s concert on Tuesday evening.

The Toronto concert is part of the second leg of SZA’s “SOS” tour and would have been her second stop in the city. The first was back on Feb. 25.

The new date for Toronto’s show has yet to be announced.
