I scream, we scream, we all scream for ice cream! Especially on National Ice Cream Day of course.

On July 16, several ice cream shops in Toronto are giving away free scoops of ice cream in honour of the delectable day.

To start things off, you can visit the Harbourfront Centre and enjoy a free scoop of locally made ice cream courtesy of Dairy Farmers of Ontario and Shaw’s Ice Cream. Free scoops of Ontario milk and cookies will be available from noon to 8 p.m. but only until supplies last.

Local ice cream joint, Dutch Dreams, is also offering free cones, as long as customers download the @getkoho app. Customers can visit the shop between 3 to 8 p.m. to get their ice cream fill while admiring the shop’s wonderfully quirky decor.

Last but not least, ice cream chain Dairy Queen is giving its loyal customers a free small vanilla cone to celebrate the holiday. Customers must make sure they have the DQ app downloaded to receive the treat.

ICE CREAM DESSERTS CANADIANS LOVE THE MOST

Ahead of National Ice Cream Day, food delivery app SkipTheDishes revealed the most popular ice cream treats and flavours across the country. The app found the most popular ice cream treat in Ontario so far this year is a chocolate fudge sundae.

Meanwhile, the least favourite flavours amongst Canadians were butterscotch ripple and strawberry.

Nationwide, chocolate fudge cake was a fan favorite with over 1,400 orders. In Nova Scotia, peanut butter fudge brownie cheesecake came out on top as a go-to decadent dessert.

Similar to Ontario, Saskatchewan residents chose the chocolate fudge symphony as their top choice and in part with the fudge trend, Quebec has crowned caramel fudge cheese pie as their ultimate dessert.

Skip says on National Ice Cream Day last year, Canadians ordered over 11,000 ice cream creations on the app.
