We are officially one month away from the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), and this week we’ll finally find out the full schedule for one of the world’s biggest and most anticipated film festivals.
The 2026 edition of TIFF will take place from September 10 to 20, and the festival is expected to release its full lineup and schedule on Tuesday, August 11.
This means that, as early as this week, film fans will finally be able to start planning their festival experience, including an itinerary of films they want to see, which premieres they want to line up for, which red carpets they want to attend and, of course, which celebrities they’re hoping to spot around the city.
While the full schedule is still under wraps, TIFF has already given movie lovers a pretty strong taste of what’s coming to Toronto this fall.
The festival has previously announced a mix of feature films, documentaries and shorts, including projects centred on iconic Canadian figures such as Terry Fox and Rick Hansen.
The announcements have already started generating buzz around what could be another star-studded 11 days in the city.
TIFF has also announced 64 films in its Gala and Special Presentations programme, two of the festival’s most closely watched sections. The lineup includes Inherit, directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun; Ashes, directed by Diego Luna; and Prima Facie, directed by Susanna White.
And that’s only a piece of what’s coming.
In total, TIFF has already announced more than 100 films for this year’s festival, with even more titles set to be revealed as the festival gets closer.
