Toronto named one of the world’s top trending brunch destinations

Who doesn’t love a good brunch?

According to a new study by clothing company Pour Moi, Torontonians do as Toronto is among the top trending brunch destinations around the world. 

Pour Moi analyzed TikTok views using the hashtag city brunch and gathered data from over 360 cities around the world.  

“Average brunch costs were calculated by looking at the cost for two coffees, two glasses of prosecco (or an alternative alcoholic beverage), one savoury brunch dish and one sweet brunch dish. The costs were gathered from three restaurants in each of the top 20 cities, and where applicable converted from local currency to GBP (£),” explained the company. 

The study found that Toronto ranked as the ninth best brunch spot in the world. Toronto received 2.8 million views on TikTok for its brunch scene. Pour Moi says brunches in the city cost an average of around £36.27 ($62.09 CAD) which is considered one of the more affordable cities. Toronto was the only city in Canada to make the top 10. 

When it comes to the top spot, London, United Kingdom ranked first overall. Pour Moi says 12 million views were accumulated for London’s brunch scene on TikTok. 

In particular, the capital city is known for its classic English breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms and fried bread.

Falling second behind London is New York City with 11.1 million views on the social app. Half of the top 20 brunch destinations were actually found in the United States. 

“New York City, Denver, Atlanta and Las Vegas make up four of the top five trending brunch destinations, due to the many videos of Americans sharing their love for brunching across the states,” Pour Moi said.
