In its 8th year the International Vegan Film Festival has expanded into a multi-day, seven program format that celebrates the 80th birthday of veganism on World Vegan Day Weekend, beginning with a Halloween party (screening not one but two vegan zombie movies!), followed by a full day committed to vegans who have expanded their circle of compassion to include nonhuman animals, and concluding on a day celebrating those who have stepped up to advocate for the animals who will never find sanctuary, and fight for the fragile ecosystem that we all share.
The seven sessions of the IVFF curate international entries in eight categories – Animal Advocacy, Lifestyle, Health and Nutrition, Environmental Protection, Intersectional, Public Service announcement, Social Media Advocacy, and the competition for Best Vegan-Themed Feature Film.
Of course, its not a festival without food. Enjoy refreshments and hearty vegan offerings from local vendors, Friday evening at The Lab (108 Dundas Street West) and the University of Toronto’s OISE Auditorium (252 Bloor Street West).
