Breaking Sound Photography Exhibition

May 1 @ 1:00 pmMay 31 @ 6:00 pm

Breaking Sound is a month-long exhibition by Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist Rhandy Adolphe (SAMBAranthony), part of the 2026 CONTACT Photography Festival .

Through a body of work that fuses sound and sight through movement, the exhibition translates photography into visual sound waves captured through dance and DJ’ing. The installation explores vibration as a shared language; one capable of bending perception and dissolving boundaries between what we hear and what we see.

With Breaking Sound, Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist Rhandy Adolphe (SAMBAranthony) presents a body of work that fuses sound and sight through movement. By translating photography into visual sound waves captured through dance and DJ’ing, the installation explores vibration as a shared language; one capable of bending perception and dissolving boundaries between what we hear and what we see. At its core, Breaking Sound reflects on the idea that all sensation originates from the same material force: vibration itself.

Visitors are invited to move through the space at their own pace, whether in stillness or in motion, and to return throughout the month to experience the work from new perspectives.
