Così fan tutte, Mozart’s wry comedy about fidelity and temptation, returns to the COC in a production that was hailed for capturing “the complex spirit of its original creators” (The Globe and Mail). Academy Award-nominated Canadian stage and screen director Atom Egoyan brings his unique vision to this “School for Lovers” (the opera’s subtitle), where a pair of siblings have their love put to the test by their questioning fiancés.
Two rising stars portray the opera’s two sisters, Lauren Fagan as Fiordiligi and mezzo-soprano Martina Myskohlid as Dorabella, with tenor Laurence Kilsby making his house debut as Ferrando and COC Ensemble Studio graduate Joel Allison returning as Guglielmo.
