Falling Iguana Theatre presents Crane Girl by Alexa Higgins (Best New Play Award Winner, Hamilton Fringe; one of Steel City Reviews’ 10 Best Productions of 2025), a fictionalized exploration (inspired by a real event) of what might cause a woman to freestyle climb a crane. It follows Jane, a woman who, having witnessed a tragic event, suddenly finds herself untethered. Jane can see no way out of the cage she has built around herself until she stops looking for a way out, and looks up. Crane Girl explores women’s bodies, societal constraints, and is an urgent rallying call to speak, to rage, and to climb towards a feminist future. This fast-paced, funny, and highly physical play takes place on a climbable structure, where our titular Crane Girl never touches the ground.
