dance: made in canada / fait au canada festival (d:mic/fac) is a biennial repertory festival with a vision of presenting works by Canadian choreographers with unique artistic visions and come from all cultural backgrounds. Since its inception in 2001, d:mic/fac has presented a cross-section of 300+
contemporary Canadian dance makers. In our last Festival year, we received over 3,500 audiences live and online.
2025 d:mic/fac will be running seven days of dance at the Betty Oliphant Theatre and Citadel + Compagnie in Toronto in August 2025. d:mic/fac presents both
new and existing works by established, mid-career, and emerging choreographers working in a variety of dance genres and forms in Canada. We have multiple programs in this year’s edition: MainStage, WYSIWYG and Arts Encounters which include dance on film and video (live & online), podcasts, visual exhibitions and a commissioned dance from our emerging artists program. We are especially excited for brand new program ‘Haute Couture’ and continued partnerships with partnerships with Summerworks, Citadel + Compagnie, National Ballet of Canada, Theatre Passe Muraille and TO Live.
