From Weeds We Grow

From Weeds We Grow is an interdisciplinary and community-engaged public art program that explores the local community’s relationship to the environment through nature, art, and wellness in Rowntree Mills Park. Since 2020, this program has engaged intergenerational community members, artists, and facilitators to deepen our connections with the public park space through community-inspired crafting and movement sessions in Rowntree Mills Park.

Led by STEPS Public Art alongside local and Indigenous creators, we will offer a series of land-based crafting, reflection, and movement sessions to reconnect with the land and the Humber River. Join us in Rowntree Mills Park from July to October 2025 to create in celebration of the abundance of nature!
