Global Beatles Day began in 2009 as a fan-created, fan-run celebration of The Beatles, their music, and the message: love is all you need.
The date marks the anniversary of the 1967 BBC Our World program—the first international satellite TV broadcast—where the band performed “All You Need Is Love” to an estimated audience of 400 million.
This year, The Beatles’ company, Apple Corps Ltd, has officially recognized Global Beatles Day and is encouraging fans around the world to participate.
