Healing Water: The Art of Reflection by Carolyn M. Boyd

Feb 3, 2026 @ 11:00 am - Feb 17, 2026 @ 05:00 pm

Artist Statement

“This series of paintings is a meditation on the healing presence of water in the natural world. Each piece, whether it’s the sun glowing on the surface of a wavy lake, or trees reflecting on a peaceful pond, invites the viewer into a moving, contemplative space. In nature, water is both mirror and balm. It holds memory and motion.

Water is never still, even when it appears so on the surface. It moves through us, and offers us a place to let go. In these works, water becomes both subject and symbol, a force of renewal, and a quiet companion in our search for balance. Water has always spoken to me, not in words, but in rhythm, reflection, and in its ability to cleanse and carry.

Reflections on ponds, lakes, rivers and streams become metaphors for self-reflection, encouraging us to look inward with the same calm and acceptance that nature extends outward. Created through an intuitive process rooted in both observation and emotion, these paintings are about capturing a feeling, a breath of fresh air, a moment of stillness, a return to what grounds and restores us. My hope is that each painting offers a pause, a space where viewers can reconnect with the healing rhythms of water, and with themselves.”
