IDS Toronto 2026 returns this winter with a renewed sense of purpose and a sharp focus on the ideas reshaping the global design landscape. This year’s edition explores a pivotal moment in the industry—defined by breakthroughs in material innovation, lighting technology, AI-driven design tools, and new forms of international collaboration.
From January 22–25, IDS will gather world-leading designers, emerging studios, future-focused brands, and thousands of industry professionals and design enthusiasts for four days of exhibitions, talks, installations, and product debuts.

Following its acclaimed debut at IDS Vancouver, this immersive lighting feature arrives in Toronto for the first time. Curated by ThinkL Lighting Studio, ILLUMINATE spotlights cutting-edge lighting design, technology, and experimentation.
Keynote Speakers
IDS Toronto 2026 welcomes a world-class speaker lineup of global and Canadian design leaders, including:
- Eames Demetrios – Director of the Eames Office and grandson of Charles and Ray Eames, championing a legacy of design thinking, storytelling, and cultural exploration.
- Tatiana Bilbao – Acclaimed Mexican architect recognized for her human-centred, socially driven, and contextually rich design approach.
- Fredrika Inger – Global Chief Product and Commercial Officer at IKEA, will take the main stage with a keynote address that explores product development and design, innovation, and how IKEA continues to shape life at home worldwide.
- Tommy Smythe – Renowned Canadian designer and television personality known for his timeless interiors and signature narrative-forward design style.
- Brian Gluckstein – One of Canada’s most celebrated design voices, blending classic elegance with refined modernity.
- Colette van den Thillart – Internationally recognized Canadian designer, celebrated for her evocative, glamorous, and highly original interiors.
- Lynda Reeves – Founder and Publisher of House & Home magazine, renowned for her influential voice in Canadian design and her signature blend of timeless style and practical, approachable living.

Studio North & Prototype
Ever-popular Studio North and Prototype offer the country’s best glimpse at the stars of tomorrow. In Studio North a group of independent product designers exhibit their custom and one-off creations (including furniture and lighting, glass and ceramics, textiles and décor objects) within a gallery-like setting, while Prototype lets designers unveil innovative and avantgarde pieces that often experiment with cutting-edge materials and techniques. This showcase of rising Canadian talent featuring Etty Anderson, JETA Studio, Juba, AND Ceramic Studio, Laboratoire Textile, Le Tenon & La Mortaise, and Good Friend.
