On Wed 10/8, the Canadian premiere of The Last Game will take place at the Hockey Hall of Fame. Featuring Ken Dryden‘s last film apperance, The Last Game follows players from Nairobi to New York confronting the climate crisis through the sport they love.
Dryden closes the documentary with a powerful warning:
“There needs to be a different relationship between the planet and human beings.”
Directed by 17‑time Emmy winner Jon Alpert, the film travels from Argentina to Ottawa to Kenya, featuring a whole host of hockey heroes including Jari Kurri, Mike Richter, Stéphane Matteau, Caroline Ouellette, and Chelsea Ziadie.
It also transports us to meet shamans from the Amazon jungle, reindeer herders from the Arctic Circle and monks from the Himalayas among others.
The premiere is part of Commffest Film Festival, with each screening followed by a Q+A with Alpert and players from The Last Game hockey team film, plus door prizes like game‑worn jerseys. Seating is limited, so secure Tickets today to celebrate Dryden’s legacy in the sport’s most iconic setting.
