Mônica Freire

Join us at Spadina Theatre for a vibrant world music concert with Mônica Freire, winner of the 2024 Félix Award — Quebec’s most prestigious music prize.

Mônica Freire brings together her native Brazil and her Middle Eastern roots in her concert Ilhada. Weaving together Brazilian guitar, oriental percussion, and strings, she delivers a joyful and powerful blend of music and poetry — a celebration of encounters, sung in Portuguese and French.
