This engaging 90-minute older adult-focused workshop breaking down the four phases of filmmaking: pre-production, production, post-production, and marketing/distribution. Using real-world indie success stories, participants will learn how films are developed, shot, edited, and brought to audiences worldwide — proving that creativity, strategy, and passion can turn even the smallest idea into a global project.
Presented by Sean Cisterna, award-winning filmmaker, pioneers filmmaking workshops for seniors 65+. He leads sessions across Canada, including Ontario retirement communities and festivals, using accessible tools to spark creativity, reduce isolation, and build social bonds. He is the director of the new documentary, Silver Screamers, opening at Toronto’s Hot Docs Cinema on April 3, 2026. His past films include From the Vine, Kiss and Cry, and Full Out.
