On May 2026, Album Studios (@album.studios ) and CONTACT Photography Festival (@contactphoto) unveil the works of internationally renowned ballet and fashion photographers, Karolina Kuras (@karolinakuras) and Ted Belton (@tedbelton) in “Photo Diary”.
This 25-day exhibition brings together an intimate record of Kuras’ and Belton’s photography practices, capturing discipline and grace in visual conversation. Both with special eyes for movement, texture, and contrast, their photographs reveal how fashion and dance are connected practices, through their vulnerable yet performative natures.
The presentation features curated photographs, unified by a sense of experimentation with human expression, varied creative processes, and print materials. Central to the exhibition is the artists’ contemporary styles that naturally complement each other, capturing discipline and grace in visual conversation.
The evening will include the artists in attendance and a panel moderated by Odessa Paloma Parker (@odessapaloma). Light refreshments will be provided. Photobooth hosted by Album EQ (@albumequipment) in Studio B.
Admission is free. Please RSVP via event website here.
About the Artists:
Karolina Kuras is a Toronto based ballet and portrait photographer. Internationally recognized as one of the foremost photographers working in ballet today, she works at the intersection of classical ballet and fashion, producing images that are precise, elegant, and entirely her own. A classically trained dancer herself, Karolina brings an embodied understanding of movement and line to every shoot. On set she directs and shapes movement specifically for the camera, ensuring each image is intentional rather than incidental. Having worked with some of the most celebrated ballet companies in the world, her work is built on the trust of the people she photographs and a deep respect and understanding for the art form.
Ted Belton is a Canadian photographer living in Toronto and working internationally. His fashion pictures and portraits have appeared in titles such as AirMail, Dazed, Kinfolk, and Rolling Stone. Ted’s interest in documenting individuals of exceptional character and style has brought him to the streets of Paris, into the homes of eccentrics and socialites, the studios of artists, musicians, and designers, and to skate parks and fashion weeks around the world. Wherever he is, Ted’s eye remains tuned to the quiet qualities of his subjects that he aims to amplify into memorable statements.
