Porch View Dances 2026 Celebrates 15 Years of Dance & Community!

July 1 @ 7:00 pmJuly 5 @ 8:07 pm

Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Porch View Dances (PVD) returns to Toronto’s Seaton Village from July 1–5, 2026, inviting audiences to experience dance like never before- outside theatres and into the everyday spaces where we live, work, and play.

In PVD’s 15th year, we are looking back and looking very much forward. This year’s theme, “Perspective,” invites audiences and artists alike to consider the many ways we see, experience, and understand the world around us. Through movement, storytelling, and shared experiences, PVD explores how perspective is shaped by culture, memory, identity, and connection. Each performance offers a unique lens — revealing new viewpoints, challenging assumptions, and encouraging deeper empathy and curiosity. By bringing together diverse artistic voices and lived experiences, the festival celebrates the richness that emerges when we open ourselves to seeing through someone else’s eyes.

A pay-what-you-want event produced by Kaeja d’Dance under the direction of Co-Artistic Directors Karen and Allen Kaeja, Porch View Dances transforms front porches, alleyways, sidewalks, and neighbourhood streets into vibrant performance spaces, celebrating real people dancing in real spaces. This beloved, one-of-a-kind outdoor festival blends professional choreographers with community participants,

creating a magical and unrepeatable fusion of art, identity, and neighbourhood connection.

Now entering its milestone 15th consecutive year, PVD continues its tradition of bringing audiences together through immersive site-specific dance experiences that are joyful, accessible, and deeply rooted in community. The beloved Porch View Dances festival engages artists and participants from all over Toronto!

The experience culminates in the participatory Flock Landing finale where audiences are invited to join in the dance.

Set throughout Seaton Village between Manning Avenue and Palmerston Avenue, audiences travel from house to house, guided by performers and welcomed into intimate worlds of movement, memory, and storytelling. Each performance offers a unique encounter with dance in unexpected places, making Porch View Dances one of Toronto’s most distinctive and cherished cultural events.

“Fifteen years ago, Porch View Dances began with a simple idea — bringing dance directly into neighbourhoods and creating meaningful connections between artists, audiences, and community,” says Karen Kaeja. “We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone with artists and audiences who continue to make PVD such an extraordinary experience.”
