Spotlight at The Second City is proud to present solo sketch comedian Janelle McGuinness, and sketch trio Debit-Cash-Or-Credit, at the monthly showcase on May 12 and 13, 2026 at The Second City’s Theatre ‘73 in Toronto.

Each monthly showcase features two buzzing sketch comedy acts performing 30 minute sets for a two night run with brand new shows, exciting experiments, and Best-Ofs.
Janelle McGuinness is a Best Of Fringe winning writer and performer based in Toronto. Janelle is thrilled to be back on The Second City stage with a fresh half hour of solo sketch, hosted by her 1920s-esque cabaret singer character, that is putting the ‘Great’ back in Great Depression. With views in the millions on her TikTok comedy sketches, this is a show audiences are not going to want to miss!
Debit-Cash-Or-Credit is a new-generation sketch troupe in Toronto featuring Paul Smith (Anansi v. God(s); ARC Stage; Theatre of the Beat), Mike Jankovich, and Emma Friedman. With their biting and genre-bending satire, this group doesn’t just toe the line; they straight-up curb-stomp it! So prepare to laugh and prepare to squirm, because they’ll be sure to have you running a tab. After officially forming in 2025, DCC has since performed at the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival in 2024 and 2025, won “Dumbest Sketch in North America” at Cam Wyllie’s Sketch Comedy Invitational in 2025, and were finalists of Sketch To The Death in 2026.
