The COC’s winter season opens with Britten’s chilling psychological drama The Turn of the Screw. Based on Henry James’ 1898 gothic horror novella,an inexperienced governess suspects her young charges are possessed by ghosts in a production from Louisa Muller that The Guardian praised as “truly great… devastating and unforgettable.” Patrick Summers, Music Director Emeritus of Houston Grand Opera, conducts the COC Orchestra and a blockbuster Canadian cast featuring renowned sopranos Jane Archibald as the Governess and Adrianne Pieczonka as her loyal confidante Mrs. Grose, with rising star soprano Kirsten LeBlanc as Miss Jessop and tenor Isaiah Bell as the valet Peter Quint.
