The Unfinished Print is a mokuhanga-centered podcast celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, host and Toronto native André Zadorozny, himself a mokuhanga printmaker, has gathered work for an exhibition featuring some of the mokuhanga artists he has interviewed over the years.
Mokuhanga is the Japanese method of woodblock printmaking that uses water, wood, and natural pigments. Prints are created using tools such as knives, gouges, and the traditional hand-pressing tool known as the baren.
This unique new exhibition showcases 30 artists from 10 different nations, including Japanese-Canadian artist Naoko Matsubara, currently also featured at the AGO. Other notable artists include Paul Binnie, April Vollmer, Keiko Hara, Yoonmi Nam, and Mariko Jesse of the Mokuhanga Sisters collective.
Join us at Mark Christopher Gallery between November 7 and 30, 2025 to experience a vibrant exhibition of mokuhanga prints from international artists. The show opens with a launch party on Friday, November 7 from 7 to 10 p.m. All are welcome!
