Events happening in Toronto this weekend, Feb. 10-12

Looking for something fun to do this weekend in Toronto? We’ve rounded up a list of events in the city including pre-Valentine’s Day activities, paint nights, drag brunches, live music and more. Enjoy your weekend, Toronto!

FRIDAY FEB. 10:

In-Studio Watercolour Paint Night – Golden Sun in the Trees: 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Head to Fresh Paint Studio Danforth East for a fun and relaxing evening of painting. 

Participants will be guided step-by-step on how to create their version of the featured image of the evening. Watercolour paintings will be created on 11×14 watercolour paper.

Beginners are welcome. No experience necessary!

AGO Live: Molly Johnson: 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Famed Canadian singer Molly Johnson takes the stage in the Art Gallery of Ontario’s Walker Court for a special performance in celebration of Black History Month.

This is a seated event, on a first come, first serve basis. Cash bar will also be available. This event is free with general admission to the AGO.

Get Out For Galentine’s: 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

All are welcome at this event to hit the town with your gals and pals and celebrate iconic women in music at Left Field Brewery. 

Including Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Lizzo, and more, they’ll have the music up and the lights down with space for dancing. 

Pay-what-you-can! Proceeds support their current Beer For Everybody organization, Stella’s Place.

Best Damn Stand-Up Comedy Show: Valentines Day Edition: 8 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.

In the lead up to Valentine’s Day, watch this stand-up comedy show that includes three headliners. The show is always hilarious, thought provoking, and silly.

But a warning: the subject matter is often R-rated.

Bling Toronto: 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Experience a romantic evening of Asian culture and elegance at Lavelle Rooftop Bar’s Toronto Bling event. Surrounded by the stunning setting of Chinese lanterns filling the ceiling, the event will be the perfect blend of romance and culture.

Guests will be greeted with a fashion show featuringKyle Gervacy’s prestigious display of Afro-Asian fusion fashion. Throughout the night, silent charity date auctions will take place and all funds raised will go to charity, making it a night of giving back.

Drag Brunch at Bampots Bohemian House of Tea: 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Hosted by Messy Margaret with special guest Kenya Rami, Wham Bam Drag Brunch is a fun and fabulous drag afternoon held at Bampots.

Dog Friendly Valentines Dinner & Social: 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Bring your furry best friend on a special date night at Society Clubhouse’s dog-friendly Valentine’s Dinner & Social!

Enjoy heart-shaped pizza, decadent desserts, a welcome drink and even heart-shaped turkey meatballs for your pup. Snack Paws will also be supplying single-ingredient snacks for your pup’s dessert. There are limited tickets available for the dinner add-on.

Music Trivia – Name That Tune! 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Get pumped for music trivia with Name That Tune at Hemingway’s. They’ll have: ‘Finish that lyric,’ ‘Who’s that artist?’ and ‘Name that tune.’

Get ready for a great night with songs from the 80s, 90s, 00s and 10s.

AMARONTO at Noir inside Rebel: 10 p.m. 

Amaronto is a new Afrobeats night at Noir inside Rebel nightclub, featuring some of the biggest Afrobeats, Afrohouse and Amapiano sounds from across the globe for a Saturday night you won’t want to miss. 

Hosted by Femi and AY Lawson, guests can expect good vibes all night long with sounds by Grey93, Minzi Roberta & Miles Freedom, as well as surprise guests and giveaways throughout the night.

SUNDAY FEB. 12:

Intrigue at the Museum: a ROM Mystery: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

In a ROM mystery scavenger hunt, there has been a mysterious murder, and the museum’s collections hold the key. 

As you gather clues working in teams, you’ll travel through the museum’s galleries solving who did it, where, and with what. Will your team solve the mystery before the clock runs out?

Comedy Gospel: 8 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.

Comedy Gospel is a stand-up show with no religious affiliations.

Go see a rotating cast of stand-up comedians performing their best material. They will pass around a “confessional” where audience members and comedians can drop in their juiciest confessions to be read out dramatically by hosts Kari and Gordon.

Bootleggers Burlesque: 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.

A classic live burlesque performance, hosted by A’Slayna Von Hunt, featuring a different cast monthly at Capone’s Cocktail Lounge. 

The ‘Anti-Valentine’s Day show brings you love, romance and drama.

“Whether you love to love or hate to love, this special edition of Bootleggers Burlesque invites couples, throuples, singles, situationships and more,” their site says.

Couples Clash Roast Battle: 9 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.

Comedians put their relationships on the line in clash of the couples at Comedy Bar.

“Toronto Comedy’s sweethearts will enter the roast battle arena, and air juicy secrets and dirty laundry in the name of insults and only one will emerge victorious,” their site says.
