I don’t know why the folks behind La Carnita bothered to hire a publicist to announce this morning that it’s opening Tuesday June 12 as the news has been all over the Twitterverse and blogosphere for almost a week now.
“The underground culinary kings of La Carnita have a new place to play, and it’s got enough swag to make you never want to leave,” begins the blag. “Making the jump from pop-up taqueria to one of the most highly anticipated restaurant opening’s of the summer, La Carnita’s new home at 501 College Street marks the culmination of this unique social phenomenon.”
What all this talk of “swag” and “social phenomenon” doesn’t mention is that the doors open Tuesday at 6 pm – helpful that – and that the 110-seat room don’t take reservations.
So, if you want to secure a table for La Carnita’s opening night we’d suggest showing up no later than 5 pm. The day before.
