Year round, rain or shine, this community-minded park features seasonal veggies from Sosnicki Farms , Plan B Organics , Greenfields Farms as well as fruit from Feast of Fields Farms . Other veggie-minded vendors include Country Meadows Garden for organic goat cheese and olive oil, Fun Guy Farms for mushrooms, and forager Jonathan Forbes ‘s Wild Food for preserved fiddleheads and huckleberries. THE FARMERS ORGANIC MARKET St. George the Martyr Church, 197 John, at Stephanie, Saturday 8:30 am to 2:30 pm Toronto’s longest-running organic market, it’s also our smallest. Expect a limited but esoteric range of veggies – green tomatillos, hot peppers, gigantic puff mushrooms, say – and farm-preserved pickles and kimchee. Veggie-stuffed jalapeños and grape leaves, too. NATHAN PHILlIPS SQUARE FARMERS MARKET 100 Queen West, at Bay, Wednesday 10 am to 2 pm till October 5

Located right outside Mayor Miller’s office window, this weekly gathering features a number of merchants who don’t appear at any other local market. They include Andrew’s Scenic Acres , offering rhubarb, raspberries and sweet corn, Sahota Farms , specialists in Asian veggies and dill pickles, and Caledon Spring Farm , selling strawberries, asparagus and Ontario-grown peanuts. RIVERDALE FARMERS MARKET Riverdale Park, Winchester at Sumach, Tuesday 3 to 7 pm till October 25

Some of the Dufferin market’s suppliers participate in this weekly meet on the lawn next to Riverdale Farm, among them Sosnicki’s, Plan B, Country Meadows, Feast of Fields and Forbes – but some are exclusive to this gathering, like greengrocers Grenville Farms for field tomatoes, Hosswood Farms for organic herbs, Pine River Organic Farm for asparagus, and the Quinte Organic Farmers Co-operative for heirloom tomatoes, sweet corn and fresh garlic.
