ANTHROPOLOGIE 80 Yorkville, 416-964-9700, anthropologie.com
Anthropologie has a definite uptown feel, so it’s no surprise that the upscale arm of the Urban Outfitters empire opened its first Toronto store at the Shops at Don Mills. The hype surrounding the clothing and houseware retailer’s downtown launch hasn’t matched the buzz of Zara’s, American Apparel’s or H&M’s debuts, but word around Yorkville is that this outlet has been doing absurdly brisk business since opening three weeks ago.

The two-floor space shows off Anthropologie’s eclectic mix of casual clothing with a bohemian, well-travelled vibe. Tanks are covered with cascading cotton frills, nubbly sweaters are knit in slouchy shapes, and dresses come in a mishmash of cotton prints.
Furniture options aren’t as fancy as the antiques at the Paisley Shop across the street, but vintage chairs, tables and fixtures are still rustic and rich.
