We know what you’re thinking. A gift store profile so soon after the holiday shopping rush? Pardon us for suggesting that Bluebird Handmade is the perfect spot to grab presents for winter’s birthdays and anniversaries at a time when you’re still recovering from December’s credit card statement.

Crystal Silden’s Seaton Village shop opened earlier this year as a craft-class space. While she and her team still teach after-school programs and grown-up workshops, Bluebird is quickly developing a rep for ready and well-made buys that incorporate elements of nature into their design.

Charming finds include Jennifer Graham’s modern pottery and Bookhou’s linen storage boxes printed with Victorian row houses. Stitchface’s snuggly characters mix wonky features with retro fabrics, while Papaver Vert’s nesting dishes are hand-felted in a rainbow of nappy wools.
