Burnt Offering

Burnt Offering www.burntoffering.ca Rating: NNNNN

On a bitterly cold February evening, in a rambling old house in Kensington Market, Mark Chilton debuted his Burnt Offering menswear line. Chilton presented a capsule line of paper-bag-waist pants, backless waistcoats and collarless dress shirts. The palette of earthy greys, greens and pops of red in quilted and tattered vintage fabrics referenced the Depression era with deconstructed details, including inside-out pockets and front coat vents. It was, in a word, charming, an almost impossible feeling for any designer to conjure up, and we can’t wait to see how he delights us next.
