Common Cloth

1233 Queen West, 416-203-7710, www.commoncloth.com Rating: NNNNN

Designers Kristina Bozzo and Melanie Talbot are expanding their Common Cloth brand this spring to include a menswear mini-collection and Common Cloth Fetch, a line of dog styles for fashion-forward Fidos. Guys’ looks will include T-shirts, suiting and vests in Common Cloth’s signature neutral palette punched up with royal blue and tangerine accents. The doggie duds focus on polos, hoodies and one-piece jogging suits that the duo laughingly describe as “clean-lined.”

The new additions will be shuffled in among 80s-inspired spring women’s looks in the gorgeous Parkdale Common Cloth boutique, designed with a warm, industrial vibe by Queen West’s Commute Home. Dresses and smocks in gold-striped fuchsia and ink-blot polka dots hang from iron T-bar racks, while vintage-feeling sweatshirts stack up on stone-look benches.

Signature silk jersey, racer-back tanks and T-shirts showing off Common Cloth’s dancewear inspiration would pamper the staples section of your closet.

Common Cloth picks: An electric-blue picnic-blanket-check dress gets pleated and ruffled to resemble a houndstooth pattern, $400 a deep, double-V neckline sexes up a black silk taffeta party dress, $598 pick up the beautifully basic tanks for $88.

Look for: Custom orders that allow sophisticated prom and bridal party clients to mix fabrics and silhouettes.

Hours: Monday by appointment, Tuesday to Saturday 11 am to 7 pm, Sunday noon to 5 pm.
