Design Week Take 5: MADE at Home

MADE’s Shaun Moore and Julie Nicholson have put together some pretty memorable exhibitions for their annual show, formerly called Radiant Dark.

The first event in 2008 opened at the Burroughes Building the day after the huge Queen West fire took out half a city block a few addresses east. Last year’s presentation brought alt work to stuffy Bay Street at its venue in Commerce Court.

Each show made a strong statement about Canadians getting patriotic about design but 2011’s MADE at Home, on until February 12 in the 850 square foot apartment above their shop (867 Dundas West), is bound to have the biggest impact on how we think about actually living with locally sourced furniture and housewares.
