SIGNATURE PRODUCT: Using leftovers from the construction of furniture pieces like their Onedge lounge chair and Merge table, Jason and Lars Dressler are creating a curious grouping of gift-perfect products for their Cut-ups show at MADE (867 Dundas West, 416-607-6384). Opening this evening (Thursday, November 19, 7 to 9 pm), the holiday lineup includes ornaments made from reclaimed Douglas fir and found hardware.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY: “It stems from our efforts to minimize our waste and lessen the amount we throw out,” says Jason. “The pieces are a time capsule of wood and metal that show which materials were used for different works.” Plywood offcuts become handcrafted bracelets and Cutlets, a series of free-form toys on wheels.

NEW WORKS: While prepping new products and prototypes for January’s Interior Design Show and Radiant Dark exhibitions, the brothers are designing and building the bar, tables and shelving for new Ossington locavore spot Böhmer.

WHERE TO BUY IT: Cut-ups at MADE start at $10. Brothers Dressler pieces are also available at Bergo (55 Mill, building 47A, 416-861-1821) and through their showroom (225 Sterling, 416-892-9522) by appointment.
