Double 0 Style

Between today’s (Thursday, October 25) opening of TIFF’s (tiff.net) Designing 007 exhibition and the premiere of Skyfall in November, we spy a Bond-inspired fashion moment.

With its lineup of sleek silver attaché cases like this Limbo model ($675, 101 Bloor West, 416-922-2644, rimowa.de), Rimowa’s luggage looks made for a Bond flick.

This vintage Mansfield London bowler ($225, Cabaret, 672 Queen West, 416-504-7126, cabaretvintage.com) might not be as lethal as Oddjob’s in Goldfinger, but that doesn’t mean it won’t look just as sharp.

What would James Bond be without his classic black bow tie. This tux-ready version is by Dion ($95, Gotstyle, 62 Bathurst, 416-260-9696, gotstylemenswear.com).

Bond girls love their baubles, like this Swarovski Hot Montana collar ($400, Eaton Centre, 218 Yonge, 647-439-8584, and others, swarovski.com). The crystal purveyor is producing two 007-themed jewellery lines to coincide with Skyfall’s opening.

While many cite Ursula Andress’s belted bikini in Dr. No as Bond’s seminal swimwear moment, we think the itsy-bitsy gilded bottoms worn by a playing-dead Shirley Eaton in Goldfinger shouldn’t be overlooked. American Apparel shiny side-tie bikini bottoms ($35, 499 Queen West, 416-703-5146, and others, americanapparel.net).
