The sense of sunglass style in the gay-bourhood owes a lot to Eyes on Church. Owner Farhad Ghahremani says his customers are the fashion-savviest in the village, and his handsome selection explains why.

The store stocks conspicuously fancy shades from Chanel, Dior, Prada and Ray-Ban, but Ghahremani says even his label-loving shoppers are turning to buys from more quietly high-end brands. John Richmond aviators, artful Thierry Lasry specs and Mykita frames that you can twist and bend without breaking all focus on design over luxury-logoed arms.
Lots of other fashion-focused businesses have opened and closed on Church, but Ghahremani made it to 13 years in business by keeping his eye on service.
Eyes on Church picks: For the ultimate Pride statement, Ghahremani recommends a pair of visor-style Police shades, $385 there’s an orange tinge to the tortoiseshell of a Harry Lary’s pair, $460 John Richmond aviators are accented with a stainless steel insert on their bridge, $345.
Look for: A great selection of coloured contact lenses in case the object of your Pride affection prefers brown eyes over blue.
