Fall womenswear preview

1. Opening imminently in the Distillery District (55 Mill, 416-363-5300) is Spectacle’s (spectaclelovesyou.com) new east-side store. Over 750 different frames will be on display including Lanvin, Moscot (pictured) and the in-house line, Taru & Koli.

2. Toronto stylist and former Plaid Magazine editor-in-chief Odessa Paloma Parker has teamed up with Fitzroy Boutique (fitzroyboutique.com) on a collab collection called Grey Lagoons. Look for separates like this Bowie blouse and eight other similarly psychedelic pieces when the line launches at Fitzroy’s new location inside Love of Mine (781 Queen West, loveofmineboutique.com) September 19.

3. The standout “geo jacquard” sweaters ($695, Jonathan+Olivia, 49 Ossington, 416-849-5956, jeremylaing.com) in Jeremy Laing’s fall collection are at the top of more than a few Toronto women’s (and men’s) autumn must-have lists.

4. Quill & Tine gloves ($115, quillandtine.com) aren’t only stylish with their mix of tartan wool and leather, they’re also smartphone- and tablet-friendly, with fingertips designed to swipe and tap screens. That means no more baring your hands to text on a minus-10-degree day!

5. Of all the international retail arrivals planned for the city this coming season, we’re most excited about Brit bag brand Mulberry. A Yorkville location (131 Bloor West) opened August 2, and a Yorkdale shop (3401 Dufferin) follows Wednesday (August 14).
