Fashion Week Review: Dimitri Chris

I had never considered wearing a cape until I saw the Dimitri Chris show during Montreal Fashion Week in early March. The charcoal check piece with its cable knit edge wasn’t some flowing, dandy statement piece. It was handsome and tailored but it was a cape and I figured my interest would pass.

But there it was again at the label’s Toronto fashion week debut, sandwiched between early exits that focused on pared down suits and later looks that emphasized classic coats. And you know what? I’ll take it!

There wasn’t a piece of outerwear in the lineup that wasn’t covetable in fact and three wool toppers, in short, mid and long lengths, with a built in scarf piece on their collars will definitely be the collection’s most wanteds.
