Fashion Week wheres and wears

The Fashion Design Council of Canada finally announced Toronto Fashion Week‘s new venue on Monday. The Fall 2010 shows, taking place from March 28 to April 1, will be presented at 30 Ordnance Street, an industrial warehouse wedged between two sets of railroad tracks off Strachan, south of King.

The building is best known as the spot where Toronto police stashed thousands of stolen bikes following raids on garages rented by Igor Kenk in the summer of 2008. Sounds a bit more interesting than an abandoned car dealership, no?

Now that the news is out and registration is open, we can start planning our runway room outfits (finally!) and there are two big sales this weekend guaranteed to help fill in the Toronto designer blanks in your closet.

The Jeremy Laing sample sale is tomorrow (Thursday, February 26) at 1342 Queen West (suite 3) between 3 pm and 7 pm. I Want – I Got‘s Anita Clarke tweeted that overstock will be available up to size 12 but runway samples are twos and fours. This sale is cash only.

For a few more options, stop by the Canadian Designers Customer Appreciation Event on Friday between 5:30 pm and 10:30 pm and Saturday between 10 am and 5:30 pm at the Gladstone’s ART BAR (1214 Queen West). Clothing by Carrie Hayes, Desperately Different, Karamea, Zoran Dobric and Hortense Salvatore plus accessories from Cha Cha Handbags and Jabberdust are 40 to 80 per cent off.[rssbreak]
