Under construction now on Bathurst just south of Bloor is Lindvest Properties Limited's B.streets Condos, a mid-rise project combining retail space, open-concept units, two-storey towns and swanky penthouses. Loft five is a 1,184-square-foot three-bedroom unit with two terraces and a balcony on the eighth and ninth floors priced at $708,900. Here are its design positives and some creative ways to deal with a few tricky spaces.
+ Lower balcony 35 SQ. FT.
+ Upper terrace 296 SQ. FT.
Total 1515 SQ. FT.
You enter the unit on the sleeping level, so making the hall feel tidy and less personal should be a priority. Try a console or bench along the side of the stairs.
Kudos to the architects for incorporating a generously sized laundry room into the plan. For $700K+, you'd better not have to wash and dry in a hall closet.
Splurge on a sweet piece of extra-oversized local art for the stairway wall.
The builders' plan suggests a square dining table, but a round one would allow you to move from the open-concept living room to the front terrace more easily.
A supersized terrace off the principal bedroom means you'll have a quiet view over the Annex's leafy streets all to yourself. Set up some loungers for reading and test your green thumb with a planter garden.
