JOHN FLUEVOG SHOES 4 Trinity, 416-583-1970, fluevog.com

If your only Fluevog footwear shopping experience has been at the label’s original Queen and John location, its second Toronto digs in the Distillery District are bound to surprise you with their soaring size and industrial look. If you’ve shopped the Vancouver-based label’s shoes at any of its 15 other outlets, though, like its Bucktown space in an old Chicago theatre, you know the shops often celebrate the history of their storefronts and neighbourhoods.

In the Distillery, that means bare brick walls lined with shelving fashioned from reclaimed beams topped with a collection of dapper, dandy styles for men and women. For spring, standout pieces include Daily Miracles Stunner heeled booties in zebra stripes, dressy Exsequi Lansky lace-ups in patent navy or burgundy and Flyvog high-top sneaks with yellow or blue soles.

Fluevog picks: The store launches with a pair of limited-edition shoes: Gateway Brandenburg brogues in a mix of tan and olive leather ($279) and Miracle Marvel floral-printed peep-toe pumps with an ankle strap ($249).

Look for: Fluevog Day on Wednesday (May 15), when the store’s entire stock will be 15 per cent off.

Hours: Monday to Saturday 11 am to 8 pm, Sunday noon to 7 pm.
