Design Week kicks off early this year out in the Junction, where the Toronto Design Offsite Festival (todesignoffsite.com) features a series of exhibitions and events. Opening Saturday (January 19), ARTiculations (2928 Dundas West) hosts a new Brothers Dressler lighting installation, and Smash (2880 Dundas West) debuts a series of shelving units inspired by 19th-century library stacks. On Wednesday (January 23), Mjölk (2959 Dundas West) owners John Baker and Juli Daoust unveil a new collection of tea ceremony pieces (pictured) designed by Swedish firm Claesson Koivisto Rune and executed by local makers Coe & Waito, Scott Eunson and Adian Kuzyk.
