Manatee silk

I’ve wanted a lot of things in the half-decade I’ve been writing NOW’s style pages, but a swatch of fabric hasn’t been one of them. Until now. Artist Pandy Ramada’s Manatee hand-printed silk depicts the gentle sea cows drenched in splashes of neon nail polish. The sample is part of a Gladstone Hotel (1214 Queen West) alterna-Pride show called That’s So Gay that also features work by Will Munro, Grant Heaps and Kris Knight. It’s on until July 18, and that coveted cloth is $200 a yard.
