When I was a kid, I used to fake my eye exams in hopes of tricking my optometrist into writing a prescription. It never worked, but eventually my lust for fashionable frames was rewarded with blurrier eyesight and a growing eyewear wardrobe. If I had maintained my 20/20 vision, though, a pair of PAPP UP frames might have answered my eyeglass prayers. The cardboard novelty glasses come in a rainbow of prints for $4.95 a pop (Rolo, 24 Bellair, 416-920-0100, rolostore.com), a fair price to pay to play the optically challenged.
