SourceUK Canadian fashion designer carpets
Some of Toronto’s favourite fashion designers are going underfoot. Arthur Mendonça, Smythe, Bustle, Izzy Camilleri and Virginia Johnson have all collaborated with SourceUK carpets (sourceuk.ca) to create stylish rugs that reflect their clothing looks. Mendonça mines his Portuguese heritage, mimicking the look of blue and white porcelain tiles, while Bustle’s playful steamer-trunk series hints at the theme of their forthcoming spring collection. Johnson already has a hand in her own home textiles line, making her rugs’ natural brush strokes the grouping’s most obvious and covetable match-up.
