We can’t do much to help you penny-pinch on the pile of hefty texts you need each term. But if you’re hunting for the classics on an English lit reading list or a pleasure read (remember pleasure reading?), new Danforth used book shop Re: Reading is a super saving option.

Owner Christopher Sheedy opened in the spring, stocking the store with gently read hardcovers and paperbacks in every genre. Austen, Brontë and Joyce standards are supplemented with fiction, sci-fi, mystery, eco, pastel-spined chick lit and 12,000 other titles reclaimed from a Petawawa book spot that was closing up shop. Since opening, thousands more books have been donated, keeping costs for customers at about 40 per cent of the original cover price.
A sunny reading nook at the front of the store is a great place to skim potential buys and escape the campus library.
