The Shared T-shirt company, best known for its soft basics and for donating 50 per cent of its sales to charity, has been part of the city’s style scene for more than five years. The loft parties at its former studio on Dufferin are legendary, and its pop-up shop next to the Drake in the summer of 2008 teased the line’s fans with its two-month run.

Now founders Carlo Colacci and Joyce Lo are making it official, opening their first free-standing, though admittedly teensy, store on Bathurst south of King. Its “industrial Canadiana” look, complete with a glowing pink fluorescent tube clothing rod, plywood hangers and factory fixtures, is the perfect backdrop for no-nonsense pieces like fleece cardigans and boyfriend Ts.
To complement the Shared buys, the duo have also brought in quietly luxe Ksubi denim and Generic Surplus footwear.
Shared picks: A cozy fleece cardigan is extra-comfy thanks to its shawl collar, $122 boxy-cut women’s Ts come with or without cuffs on their sleeves, $55 to $62 a boxed set of men’s V-necks is $58.
Look for: New fabrics and cuts that Colacci and Lo will be testing out on store customers before they add them to the wholesale collection.
Hours: Wednesday to Friday 4 to 8 pm, Saturday and Sunday 11 am to 6 pm.
