Spend a day with history

This millennium sure can be a downer – recession, global warming (which seems like a fantasy this time of year) – so why not pretend none of that exists and make friends with the past at one of Toronto’s many historical buildings?

At Queen and University, the Campbell House Museum (160 Queen West, 416-597-0227, campbellhousemuseum.ca) is the oldest remaining building from Old York Mackenzie House (82 Bond, 416-392-6915) is apparently haunted and Fort York (100 Garrison, 416-932-6907) offers historical military re-enactments. Aside from the whole escapism thing, you might even learn something.
